Generic Structure dari Application letter adalah:

1. Salutaion: berisi tentang salam pembuka kepada perusahaan yang dituju.

2. Introduction: Berisi tentang pembukaan surat. Biasanya berkisar tentang menyatakan ketertarikannya untuk melamar di perusahaan tersebut.

3. Body of the Leter: Berisi badan surat atau isi surat. Isi surat biasanya berkisar tentang data diri pelamar, latar belakang pendidikan dan kemampuan si pelamar.

4. Closing: Berisi tentang kalimat-kalimat penutup surat lamaran. Biasanya bagian ini isinya adalah harapan-harapan agar diterima di perusahaan tersebut.
